OPP highway traffic unit constable charged with uttering threats
An Ontario Provincial Police officer will be appearing in court in Lindsay after be charged following an investigation into an off-duty domestic incident.
The OPP Professional Standards Bureau launched the investigation Tuesday, police said Thursday.
A provincial constable who has been with the Central Region Highway Safety Division for 32 years was charged with uttering threats.
He has been placed on extended paid leave and is to appear later in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay.
His name was not revealed by police.

City of Kawartha Lakes OPP constable charged with uttering threats
A City of Kawartha Lakes OPP officer has been charged with uttering threats following an internal investigation.
On Tuesday, the OPP’s Professional Standards Bureau launched an investigation into an alleged domestic incident involving an off-duty officer.
On Thursday, OPP issued a statement saying a constable, a 32-year member of the Central Region Highway Safety Division, was charged with one count of uttering threats in relation to a domestic incident.
“The officer continues to be on extended leave,” OPP stated.
The officer is scheduled to appear in court in Lindsay on a future date.
The name of the officer was not released.

On December 11, 2018, members of the Professional Standards Bureau of the Ontario Provincial Police began an investigation into a domestic incident involving an off duty officer.
Police say the Provincial Constable, a 32-year-member of the Central Region Highway Safety Division, was charged with one count of Uttering threats in relation to a domestic incident contrary to the provisions of the Criminal Code of Canada.
