Prince Edward County OPP officer charged with domestic assault

An officer with the Ontario Provincial Police has been charged after alleged domestic incidents that happened when he was off-duty.

The officer is an eight-year member of the force in Prince Edward County, the OPP wrote in a news release issued Friday.

He's charged with two counts of assault and has been placed on administrative duties.

The officer's name is not being released by OPP in order to protect the identity of the victim.

Prince Edward OPP officer charged with assault

An OPP officer in Prince Edward County has been charged with two counts assault following an investigation into a domestic related incident recently.

The Professional Standards Bureau says the officer was off duty at the time. No other details about the incident are being released, nor are any names connected to the case.

The officer in question has been put on administrative leave and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton at a later date.

Off-duty Prince Edward County OPP officer charged with domestic assault

An OPP officer in Prince Edward County has been arrested in connection with an alleged domestic assault.

The OPP’s professional standards bureau launched a domestic-related investigation into alleged incidents that occurred while an officer was off duty.

On Friday, the OPP said the eight-year member has been charged with two counts of assault.

The officer has placed on administrative duties, OPP said.

The identity of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the alleged victim, police said.

The officer will appear in court at a later date.
