Orillia OPP officer charged with domestic assault

An OPP officer is facing charges of domestic assault.

Orillia OPP were called to a home last Thursday night around 11.

They are not releasing much details of the incident other than the officer was off duty at the time of the call.

The accused is a 15-year member of the OPP.

He has been suspended with pay and will appear in an Orillia court on November 27th.

(ORILLIA, ON) – On October 11, 2018 shortly after 11:00 p.m., members of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a domestic incident involving an off duty officer.

The Provincial Constable, a 15 year member, was charged with one count of Domestic Assault contrary to the provisions of the Criminal Code of Canada.

The officer has been suspended with pay and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia on November 27, 2018.

Ontario Provincial Police say a 15-year member of the force has been charged with domestic assault.

According to Orillia OPP, on Oct. 11 just after 11 p.m., officers responded to a report of a domestic incident allegedly involving an officer.

Police say the alleged incident occurred while the officer was off-duty.

According to police, the provincial constable has been charged with one count of domestic assault and has been suspended with pay.

Police say the accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia on Nov. 27.

A 15-year member of the OPP has been charged with domestic assault.

The Orillia OPP detachment responded to a domestic incident involving an off-duty officer shortly after 11 p.m. on Oct. 11.

The provincial constable, who works at OPP General Headquarters, was charged with one count of domestic assault.

Police are not naming the accused.

“It is to protect the identity of the victim, who was his domestic partner in this case,” said Sgt. Jason Folz, interim regional community safety co-ordinator. “And we wouldn’t release any information about any domestic incident.”

The officer has been suspended with pay and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia on Nov. 27.
