Bruce Peninsula Detachment OPP officer is charged after a single vehicle crash

An off-duty police officer has been charged with impaired driving after a single vehicle crash near Colpoy's Bay.

Members of the Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police were called to the intersection of Road 9 and Purple Valley Road just after 10pm on April 20th, 2018.

Police have charged 53-year-old David Grady with impaired care and control over 80.

Grady is a 20-year member of the OPP working at the Bruce Peninsula Detachment where he has been assigned to administrative duties.

OPP Sergeant David Rektor says that police officers must deal with the same penalties as civilians when they commit crimes. Rektor says that Grady will face his day in court, and the OPP won't be sweeping the issue under the rug.

Grady is scheduled to appear at the Owen Sound court on May 17th, 2018.

No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.

An off-duty OPP officer has been charged with impaired driving after a collision in South Bruce Peninsula.

Bruce Peninsula OPP responded to the single-vehicle collision at the intersection of Road 9 and Purple Valley road just after 10 p.m. on Friday.

As a result of the investigation, David Grady, 53, has been charged with impaired driving and driving with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in his system.

Grady is a 20-year member of the OPP working at the Bruce Peninsula detachment where he has been assigned to administrative duties, the OPP said in a news release.

No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.

Grady is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on May 17.

A veteran OPP officer had care or control of a vehicle while having more than the legal limit of alcohol in his system, police say.

The officer, a 53-year-old man who has been with the organization for 20 years, was arrested following a Friday night collision north of Wiarton.

Bruce Peninsula OPP say the officer was off-duty at the time and nobody was hurt in the single-vehicle collision.

The officer has been charged with two offence relating to being impaired while having care or control of a vehicle.
