Members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision on the 6th Line of Nichol Township on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017 at 8:05 p.m. involving an OPP cruiser and parked vehicle.

Investigation revealed that Sergeant Mike Dolderman was operating a police cruiser when his vehicle struck a parked vehicle on the roadway.

As a result of the investigation, the member was issued a provincial offence notice for fail to turn out to the left to avoid a collision.

The officer, a 22-year member of the Wellington County OPP was uninjured and damage to the cruiser, moderate.

A longtime officer with Wellington County OPP hit a parked vehicle with his cruiser, police say.

The collision occurred Tuesday evening on the 6th Line near Belwood.

The officer was not injured, although his cruiser was damaged.

Police say the officer, a sergeant who has been with Wellington County OPP for 22 years, was given a ticket for failure to avoid a collision.
