Huron County OPP officer charged in Huron East collision

HURON EAST, Ont. - Provincial police say an officer from the Huron County detachment is facing a charge arising from a collision.

Police say the collision occurred in Huron East on Tuesday after the officer had completed a traffic investigation.

OPP say the officer was making a turn when the fully marked police cruiser struck a parked vehicle.

Investigators say there was minor damage to both vehicles, but no injuries were reported at the scene.

Const. Graham Avery — a one-year veteran of the force — is charged with start from a stopped position — not in safety.

OPP officer charged following collision in Huron County

A constable with the Ontario Provincial Police is charged with a traffic offence after allegedly hitting a parked vehicle with his cruiser.

According to the OPP, Const. Graham Avery was making a turn on Cardiff Road in Huron County – near the community of Ethel, southwest of Listowel – when he hit a parked vehicle.

No injuries were reported, but both vehicles received minor damage.

Avery, who has been with the OPP for one year, is charged with making an unsafe start from a stopped position.

OPP officer charged following two vehicle collision

HURON EAST - An OPP officer has been issued a provincial offence notice following a two vehicle collision on Nov. 17 at 11:40 a.m.

The officer had completed a traffic investigation and was making a turn on Cardiff Road in Huron East when the fully marked police cruiser struck a parked vehicle. There was minor damage to both vehicles but no injuries were reported at the scene.

The provincial constable was charged with Start from a Stopped Position – Not in Safety. He has served with the OPP for one year.
