The Ontario Provincial Police Professional Standards Bureau has charged a 20-year member with a number of offences.
OPP say Provincial Constable George Duke, 52, has been charged with:
- Theft Over $5,000
- Possession of Property Obtained By Crime, Over $5,000
- Breach of Trust
- Unlawful Possession of a Restricted Firearm
- Unsafe Storage of a Firearm
- Unsafe Storage of Ammunition
- Possession of a Firearm Without a Licence
- Possession of Schedule II Substance
Duke had been posted to the Leeds County OPP detachment.
He’s been suspended with pay and is expected to appear in a Brockville court Dec. 11, 2015.

BROCKVILLE, - A 20-year veteran of the Ontario Provincial Police faces a string of charges after an investigation by the force's Professional Standards Bureau.
Police say Const. George Duke, 52 of Brockville is charged with theft over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime, breach of trust and four weapons counts.
A police news release issued Saturday provides no details of the investigation or any specifics on the allegations that led to the charges against Duke.
He is due to appear in a Brockville court on December 11.

A 20-year member of the Ontario Provincial Police from Brockville is facing eight charges after being arrested Saturday following an investigation by the OPP Professional Standards Bureau.
Const. George Duke was arrested on Saturday as part of an investigation by the OPP professional standards bureau. Duke, 52, of Brockville, is a 20-year member of the provincial police service.
The constable has been charged with theft over $5,000, possession or property obtained by crime over $5,000, breach of trust, unlawful possession of a restricted firearm, unsafe storage of a firearm, unsafe storage of ammunition, possession of a firearm without a licence and possession of a Schedule II substance.

Duke was demoted for one year a decade ago after pleading guilty to a Police Services Act charge of discreditable conduct. That charge stemmed from an incident at the former Grenville OPP station on Edward Street in Prescott in Nov. 2003. The incident involved a fellow constable at the Grenville detachment and a cadet. No criminal charges were laid. Duke was suspended with pay from the time the police act charge was laid until the hearing was held in early 2005.
