Quinte West OPP officer charged in crash with failing to stop at a red light

A Quinte West OPP officer has been charged with failing to stop at a red light.

The charge was laid following a police investigation of a two-vehicle collision involving a civilian vehicle and police car Friday afternoon.

Members of the Quinte West OPP, Fire Department and Hastings-Prince Edward EMS responded to the collision at the intersection of Dundas Street West and Dufferin Avenue around 3:20 p.m.

The intersection is controlled by traffic lights.

Two people in the civilian vehicle and the officer received minor injuries.

Cst. Allan Detlor of the Quinte West OPP Detachment has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with failing to stop at a red light.

OPP officer charged in minor collision in Trenton

QUINTE WEST – A Quinte West on-duty OPP officer was charged following a two vehicle collision in Trenton on Friday afternoon.

Around 3:20 p.m.,police, fire and EMS responded to the collision involving a police vehicle and a civilian vehicle at the intersection of Dundas St. West and Dufferin Ave. – an intersection with traffic lights.

Two people in one vehicle and the OPP officer all suffered minor injuries.

As a result of the investigation, the officer was charged.

Const. Allan Detlor of the Quinte West Detachment has been charged with failing to stop at a red light under the Highway Traffic Act sec. 144(18).
