OPP Const. Steve Tetreault, 46, charged after police called to campsite near Kenora

A 25-year veteran of the Ontario Provincial Police is charged with assault after an early morning incident on June 21 at a campsite near Kenora, Ont.

Const. Steve Tetreault, 46, was off-duty at the time of the alleged incident, according to the OPP.

He is currently on leave from the OPP and is scheduled to appear in a Kenora court on July 23.

Tetreault was also charged last year with fraud and theft, both over $5,000.

OPP officer facing charges

A Kenora OPP officer is in trouble with the law.

Constable Steve Tetreault has been charged with assault stemming from an incident that took place back on June 21st.

The 46-year-old officer was not on duty at the time.

Tetreault is a 25-year veteran of the police service and is currently on leave.

He's due to appear in Kenora Court on July 23rd to face the charge.

Cop charged with assault

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – A member of the Ontario Provincial Police from the North West Region has been charged following an investigation by members of the Kenora OPP Detachment.

An investigation was initiated following an incident that occurred in Kenora on June 21. As a result of the investigation, the OPP has charged a 25-year member from the Kenora Detachment.

He was not on duty at the time of the incident.

Provincial Constable Steve Tetreault, age 46, was charged with one count of Assault contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code.

Tetreault is currently on leave and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on July 23.
