Shortly before 11 p.m. on Friday, officers from the OPP Hearst detachment responded to a collision involving a police vehicle and a pickup truck at the intersection of Highway 11 and Cloutier Road North, just west of Hearst.

Upon arriving at the scene, police closed Highway 11 in order to conduct their investigation while Emergency Medical Services (EMS) tended to the occupants of the involved vehicles.

The investigation revealed that the Dodge Ram pickup truck occupied by a 29-year-old male driver and 67-year-old female passenger from Constance Lake First Nation was travelling eastbound on Highway 11 and a Ford Taurus police vehicle operated by a 31-year-old male police officer from Hearst was travelling southbound on Cloutier Road North prior to the collision.
