Post by Michael Jack »

(MINTO, ON) - Members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two vehicle collision around 7:20 a.m. this morning on Highway 9 in the Town of Minto.

Investigation revealed that Provincial Constable Kelly RICHARDSON was travelling southbound on King's Highway 6 in a fully marked police cruiser when she attempted to turn left into a private drive and failed to observe a northbound vehicle.

The northbound driver was unable to avoid the cruiser and struck the rear bumper.

Though there were no injuries to either driver, there was significant damage to both vehicles.

The officer, an 8 year member of the South Bruce OPP detachment was issued a Provincial Offence Notice for Turn - Not in Safety contrary to section 142(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.
