Wellington County OPP officer charged in collision

Wellington County OPP officer charged in collision

OFFICER ISSUED A PROVINCIAL OFFENCE NOTICE FOLLOWING COLLISION (FERGUS, ON) - A member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wellington County Detachment has been issued a Provincial Offence Notice (PON) following a collision on David Street north in Fergus Ontario, on Wednesday March 27, 2013.

Investigation revealed that Constable Sarah Van Norman was traveling southbound on David Street north around 1:48 p.m. when she struck a vehicle that stopped abruptly in front of her unmarked cruiser.

Neither driver was injured in the collision.

The involved vehicles received minor damage.

PC Van Norman was issued a PON on April 1, 2013 for Pass off Roadway - Not in Safety contrary to Section 150(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.

She is a six year member with the OPP presently assigned to the Wellington County OPP.
