Elgin County OPP officer charged after collision

Elgin County OPP officer charged after collision

An Elgin County OPP officer has been charged with making an improper left turn following a collision in St. Thomas on January 25th.

OPP say Constable Norman Kelso, a 10-year veteran of the force, made a left turn from Elm Street onto Wilson Street into the path of an eastbound vehicle.

No one was seriously hurt in the collision and the vehicles sustained minor damage.

Constable Kelso is charged with making a left turn across the path of an approaching vehicle.

A veteran Provincial Police officer has been charged after the investigation of a collision in St. Thomas last month. Constable Norman Kelso, a ten year member of Elgin County OPP, is alleged to have been at fault in an accident on January 25.

Investigators say Kelso was at the intersection of Elm and Wilson street in St. Thomas when he made a left turn onto Wilson, into the path of a vehicle coming down Elm Street.

No one was hurt, and minor damage was done to both vehicles.
