(SARNIA, ON) – Members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Lambton County member following a collision in the City of Sarnia this morning.

The investigation revealed that the officer was traveling eastbound on Michigan Avenue just west of Murphy Road around 8:20 a.m. this morning when he struck another vehicle while attempting a lane change.

Damage to both vehicles was minor and there were no injuries reported.

OPP has issued a Provincial Offence Notice to Provincial Constable John FAIRBAIRN for Change Lane – Not In Safety, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

The officer has served with the OPP for six years and is attached to the Point Edward detachment.
