Grenville County OPP officer charged with impaired driving

OPP in Grenville County have charged one of their own.

May 1, police responded to a single vehicle collision at Rock and McGovern Roads in North Grenville.

An approved screening device was used, and the driver was charged and brought back to the detachment.

Police say they charged Const. Joshua Bouchard of the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police with two counts of impaired driving.

Bouchard has been suspended with pay according to the Ontario Police Services Act.

An Ontario Provincial Police officer is facing impaired driving charges following a single-vehicle crash in North Grenville.

Emergency crews responded to the crash on Rock Road at McGovern Road just after 7 p.m. Sunday.

Police say an approved screening device was utilized at the scene, and the driver was arrested.

OPP Probationary Const. Joshua Bouchard, a one-year member of the OPP, is charged with operation while impaired by alcohol or drugs and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

Bouchard is currently serving with the Lanark County Detachment. Police say he has been suspended with pay, as required under the Ontario Police Services Act.

Probationary OPP officer charged with impaired driving

The officer is a one-year member of the OPP currently serving in the Lanark County detachment

An Ontario Provincial Police probationary officer has been arrested and charged for impaired driving.

Police said in a release that Grenville detachment officers responded to a call for a single-vehicle crash on Rock Road at McGovern Road just after 7 p.m. on May 1.

The driver was tested at roadside and arrested. He was brought back to the detachment for further testing.

No injuries were reported by police.

The officer, a one-year member of the OPP currently serving in the Lanark County detachment, was charged under the Criminal Code with:

- Operation while impaired by alcohol or drugs;
- Operation while impaired — blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused was released from custody. He is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on May 13.

The officer was off-duty at the time of the incident, police said Thursday.

The officer has been suspended with pay, as required under the Ontario Police Services Act.

POLICE: OPP officer charged with impaired driving

KEMPTVILLE – A probationary constable with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) faces an impaired driving charge following a single-vehicle crash in North Grenville.

Officers from the Grenville County OPP detachment responded to the collision that occurred on Rock Road at McGovern Road on Sunday just after 7 p.m. An approved screening device was used at the scene.

The driver was arrested and taken to the detachment for further testing, according to a police news release issued on Thursday.

Joshua Bouchard was charged with impaired driving and driving while exceeding the legal blood alcohol concentration.

Police released the accused from custody; he is to appear in Brockville court on May 13.

Bouchard, who serves with the Lanark County detachment and is a one-year member of the OPP, has been suspended with pay as per the Ontario Police Services Act.

The accused was not on duty at the time of the crash, an OPP spokesperson said.
