An OPP constable has been charged in a traffic collision that happened at the intersection of the Highway 11/17 bypass and Algonquin Avenue.
On November 22, there was a three-vehicle crash at the intersection, with one of the vehicles being an OPP cruiser.
An OPP officer and one other person were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Both have since been released.
Police say the OPP officer is being charged with failure to stop at a red light.
The charge, if convicted, comes with a $260 fine and three demerit points.
North Bay OPP did not release the name of the officer but did say that they are a provincial constable with approximately 26 years of service.

OPP officer charged in North Bay crash
A member of the North Bay OPP detachment has been charged in connection with a three-vehicle collision that took place at Highway 11 and Algonquin Avenue Nov. 22.
OPP say the collision occurred at 3:08 pm.
The officer and one civilian were taken to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
As a result of the investigation, the officer, who was not identified by OPP, was charged with red light – proceed before green under the Highway Traffic Act.
The member is a provincial constable with approximately 26 years of service.

SUDBURY -- A 26-year veteran of the Ontario Provincial Police has been charged in connection with a Nov. 22 collision in North Bay.
In a news release Wednesday, police said the collision involved three vehicles, include an OPP cruiser.
"The collision occurred at approximately 3:08 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 11 and Algonquin Avenue in the City of North Bay," police said.
"An officer and one civilian were taken to a hospital to be treated for non-life threating injuries.
Both individuals have since been released."
Police have now completed their investigation and the officer is charged with not stopping at a red light and proceeding before the light turned green, contrary to section 144(18) of the Highway Traffic Act.
