Lambton County OPP officer charged after crash in Tecumseh

Lambton County OPP officer charged after crash in Tecumseh

A Lambton County OPP officer has been charged a collision in Tecumseh Friday afternoon.

Police say the officer was operating a marked OPP vehicle travelling at a slow rate of speed, southbound, merging onto Manning Road from Essex County Road 22 in Tecumseh. He allegedly struck the vehicle directly in front of him that was stopped in the merging lane.

Const. Rick Scott, an eight-year member of Lambton County OPP, was charged with following too closely.

No other vehicles were involved and no one was hurt in the crash.

Lambton County OPP officer charged after crash in Tecumseh

A Lambton County OPP officer has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act after an accident in Tecumseh.

The incident happened on Friday afternoon where the E.C. Row Expressway (Essex Road 22) meets Manning Road.

Police said the male officer was southbound in a marked cruiser and driving "at a slow rate of speed" when he rear-ended a vehicle that was stopped in the merging lane.

No one was hurt.

Const. Rick Scott, a eightyear officer of Lambton County OPP, faces a charge of following too closely.

No other vehicles were involved and no one was injured in the collision.

Constable Rick Scott, an 8 year member of the Lambton County OPP has been charged with following too closely under the Highway Traffic Act.
