Post by Michael Jack »

MISSISSAUGA — A Port Credit OPP officer has been charged in connection with a collision on Hwy. 410 while she was on duty.

Police say just after midnight on Saturday, the officer was driving a marked OPP vehicle on Hwy. 410 at Highway 401 in Mississauga.

The officer was travelling in heavy stop-and-go traffic when she rear-ended a vehicle.

There were no injuries reported in the collision and damage was minimal to both vehicles.

Const. Tamara Beckers, a nine-year veteran of the OPP, has been charged with following too closely under the Highway Traffic Act.
