OPP cruiser on way to call crashes into vehicle at New Tecumseth intersection

No injuries were reported after a passenger vehicle collided with an Ontario Provincial Police cruiser en route to a call in New Tecumseth.

The two-vehicle collision occurred around 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 7 at the intersection of Highway 89 and County Rd. 10.

According to police, the cruiser was travelling westbound on Highway 89 and approached the intersection with its lights and siren activated.

At the same time, say police, a passenger vehicle was southbound on County Road 10 approaching the intersection when the vehicles collided.

Paramedics transported the OPP officer and passenger vehicle driver to the hospital as a precaution. Police say neither driver suffered injuries.

Collision Involving an OPP Cruiser Under Investigation

Police are investigating a collision involving one of their own.

On Friday (dec7) morning an OPP cruiser was involved in a crash with another vehicle at the intersection Hwy. 89 and County Road 10, just after 9:30.

The Nottawasaga OPP vehicle was on route to a call for service with its lights and sirens activated at the time of the accident.

Both the OPP officer and driver of the other vehicle were taken to hospital as a precaution.

The road was closed for approximately 4 and half hours while police processed the scene.

Collision in Alliston intersection involving OPP cruiser under investigation

Provincial police are investigating a collision involving an OPP cruiser in Alliston.

According to police, a passenger vehicle and the OPP cruiser collided Saturday morning at the Highway 89 and County Road 10 intersection.

Police report the cruiser was on its way to a call with its lights and sirens activated as it approached the intersection from Highway 89, and the two vehicles collided as the other vehicle entered the intersection from County Road 10.

Both the OPP officer and the other driver were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Police say neither sustained any injuries.

The area was closed for several hours for the investigation.

OPP cruiser onroute to call with lights, sirens activated when crash happened in intersection along HWY 89, police say

Nottawasaga OPP are investigating a two-vehicle collision involving a police cruiser in New Tecumseth over the weekend.

Around 9:40 a.m. on Saturday, first responders attended to the crash at the intersection of Highway 89 and County Road 10.

"The initial investigation revealed that an OPP Cruiser was travelling westbound on Highway 89 approaching the intersection on route to a call for service with its lights and sirens activated," officers said in a release today.

"A passenger vehicle was travelling southbound on County Road 10 approaching the intersection at Highway 89 when the vehicles collided within the intersection."

According to police, the officer and driver of the passenger vehicle were sent to hospital as a precaution.

"Both drivers sustained no injuries," police added.

The intersection was closed till 2 p.m. while the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team processed the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
