A Quinte West OPP officer is facing charges of impaired driving and obstructing a peace officer after allegedly crashing his vehicle into a fence while off duty last weekend.
Const. Allan Howard Detlor, a 13-year veteran of the force, has been assigned to administrative duties, the OPP said.
Officers from the Quinte West detachment responded to the crash at 3:36 a.m. Sunday.
They allege that the vehicle Detlor was driving left the road and struck a fence on Radeski Street.
Detlor is charged with impaired driving, driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood and obstructing a peace officer.
For the obstruction charge, a spokesman for Quinte West OPP said “the actual act is evidence that we will not be releasing to the media.”
He appears in court in Belleville Oct. 25.
