Prince Edward County OPP officer charged with impaired driving following rollover

On Friday, June 14, shortly before 8:00 p.m., Prince Edward County OPP responded to an overturned vehicle in the ditch on Prince Edward County Road-2, near Salem Road.

As a result of the investigation, Provincial Constable Patrick Menard, 48 years old was charged with:

- Having a Blood Alcohol Concentration of over 80 mg per 100 ml of blood within two hours of Driving (Criminal Code 320.14)

Menard is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on June 26, 2019.

The officer, a seven-year member of the OPP, assigned to the Prince Edward Detachment, currently on leave, was issued a 90-day Automatic Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Prince Edward County OPP officer charged with impaired driving

A constable with the Prince Edward County OPP has been charged with impaired driving following a collision.

The evening of June 14, 2019, Prince Edward County OPP responded to an overturned vehicle in the ditch on Prince Edward County Road 2, near Salem Road.

OPP charged the driver, Const. Patrick Menard, with impaired driving.

Menard has been with OPP for the past seven years but was on leave during the collision.

He was issued a 90-day licence suspension and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Menard is scheduled to appear at a Picton court on June 26 to answer to his charge.

OPP officer charged following collision in Prince Edward County

Ontario Provincial Police have had to charge one of their own following a single-vehicle collision last Friday near Ameliasburgh in Prince Edward County.

The OPP said that shortly before 8 p.m., officers with their Prince Edward County detachment responded to an overturned vehicle in the ditch on Prince Edward County Road 2, near Salem Road. When they arrived, they were met by an off-duty officer who was on leave. He was not injured.

The OPP have charged Const. Patrick Menard, 48, with having a blood-alcohol concentration of over 80 mg per 100 ml of blood in his system. Menard is scheduled to appear in court next Wednesday.

In the meantime, he was issued a 90-day automatic driver’s licence suspension and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Menard has been with the OPP for seven years and was assigned to the Prince Edward County detachment.

Ontario Provincial Police have charged a fellow officer following a driving incident that resulted in an overturned vehicle.

Provincial Const. Patrick Menard, 48, was charged with being above the legal blood alcohol limit, according to a OPP press release.

Shortly before 8 p.m., on June 14, officers with the Prince Edward County Detachment of the OPP responded to an overturned vehicle in the ditch.

According to the release, Menard is a seven-year member of the OPP, assigned to the Prince Edward detachment. He is currently on leave and was issued a 90 day automatic driver’s licence suspension. His vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Menard is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on June 26.
