A Quinte West OPP officer is facing charges of impaired driving and obstructing a peace officer after allegedly crashing his vehicle into a fence while off duty last weekend.

Const. Allan Howard Detlor, a 13-year veteran of the force, has been assigned to administrative duties, the OPP said.

Officers from the Quinte West detachment responded to the crash at 3:36 a.m. Sunday.

They allege that the vehicle Detlor was driving left the road and struck a fence on Radeski Street.

Detlor is charged with impaired driving, driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood and obstructing a peace officer.

For the obstruction charge, a spokesman for Quinte West OPP said “the actual act is evidence that we will not be releasing to the media.”

He appears in court in Belleville Oct. 25.

An off-duty OPP officer in Quinte West has been charged with impaired driving.

OPP say the vehicle left the roadway and struck a fence. No injuries were reported.

Const. Allan Howard Detlor, a 13-year member currently serving in Quinte West in the East Region was charged with driving while ability impaired, driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood and obstructing a peace officer.

“The officer is assigned to administrative duties,” stated Const Derrick Osmond in a release issued Thursday.

Detlor will appear in court in Belleville on Oct. 25.

UPDATE OCT. 12:

OPP issued a correction on Friday: “The officer has been suspended with pay and is scheduled to appear at the Belleville Ontario Court of Justice on October 25, 2018.”

OPP officer charged with impaired driving, obstructing peace officer

An 13-year member of the Ontario Provincial Police has been suspended with pay after his colleagues were called to a single-vehicle collision last Sunday.

The OPP said in a news release that at about 3:35 a.m. officers were called to the collision. The vehicle the officer had been driving, off-duty at the time, left the roadway and struck a fence on Radeski Street in Trenton.

No one was injured in the collision. The officer works out of the Quinte West detachment of the OPP, based in Trenton.

Const. Allan Howard Detlor has been charged with impaired driving, driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml blood, and obstructing a peace officer.

Detlor is scheduled to appear at the Belleville Ontario Court of Justice on October 25.

A Quinte West OPP officer charged with impaired driving following a collision on Sunday has been suspended with pay pending the outcome of legal proceedings

OPP officers were called to a single vehicle crash on Radeski Street at 3:36 a.m. in Quinte West.

Police reported a vehicle being operated by an off-duty officer left the roadway and struck a fence.

Allan Howard Detlor, a 13 year-member with Quinte West OPP is charged with impaired driving, driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in his system and obstructing a peace officer.

Early reports stated Detlor had been assigned to administrative duties; an updated media release states he has been suspended

He is to appear in Belleville court Oct. 25.

There were no injuries in the crash.

BELLEVILLE – An off-duty Quinte West OPP officer was charged with impaired driving after a single-vehicle accident early Sunday morning.

At about 3:30 a.m. Sunday, a car went off the road and hit a fence on Radeski Street in Quinte West., according to the Quinte West OPP. There were no injuries.

The officer, a constable with 13 years of experience, was charged with impaired driving, driving with more than the legal alcohol limit in his blood, and obstructing a police officer.

He is to appear in court in Belleville on the charges on Oct. 25. Meanwhile, he has been assigned to administrative duties.

Quinte West OPP say there’s been a change to the employment status of an off-duty officer, charged in connection with a crash in Trenton last weekend.

Police were called to a single-vehicle crash on Radeski Street, around 3:30 last Sunday morning, where the car had gone off teh road and into a fence.

Provincial Constable Allan Detlor, a 13-year OPP veteran, serving in Quinte West, had been arrested at the scene and charged with impaired driving and obstructing police.

Originally OPP said he was assigned to administrative duties, but they have clarified he is suspended with pay.

Detlor is scheduled to appear in Belleville Court on October 25.

A Quinte West OPP officer has been sentenced in connection with a crash while he was off-duty.

Constable Allan Detlor, a 13-year member of the provincial force, pled guilty in Belleville Court on Monday to driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

He was fined $1,500 and was given a one-year driving prohibition, and charges of impaired driving and obstructing a peace officer were withdrawn.

Detlor was charged by the OPP on Oct. 7, 2018, after officers responded to a report of a vehicle hitting a fence on Radeski Street in Trenton.

He was assigned to administrative responsibilities following the incident, and is currently suspended from duty with pay.

Quinte West OPP officer charged with discreditable conduct

A Quinte West OPP officer, convicted on a charge laid for crashing a vehicle, has also been charged by the OPP Professional Standards Bureau.

Constable Allan Detlor was fined $1,500 and prohibited from driving for a year after he pled guilty in Belleville Court on April 8 to driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

The charge was laid by police after a vehicle involving an off-duty OPP officer struck a fence on Radeski Street in Trenton on Oct. 7, 2018.

Inspector Charles Young of the OPP Professional Standards Bureau said Detlor is charged with two counts of discreditable conduct under the Police Services Act, and he will appear before the Police Services Act Tribunal this Wednesday to answer those charges.

Detlor is suspended from duty with pay.

Suspended Quinte West OPP officer to plead to Professional Standards Bureau in August

An OPP officer charged by the police force’s Professional Standards Bureau will make a plea related to those charges next month.

Constable Allan Detlor is charged by the PSB with two counts of discreditable conduct in connection with an impaired driving charge on April 8.

The PSB charges came after Detlor had pleaded guilty to the criminal charge and was fined $1,500 and given a one-year driving ban.

Quinte News has learned Detlor is set to make his plea in the professional standards case on August 14, with a date and time to be determined.

Detlor is a 13-year veteran of the provincial police force and is currently suspended with pay.

Quinte West OPP officer to be demoted after plea to Professional Standards Bureau

A suspended Quinte West OPP officer will likely be reinstated soon after pleading guilty Wednesday to charges of discreditable conduct from the Professional Standards Bureau (PSB).

The PSB had charged 1st Class Constable Al Detlor after a previous guilty plea in a criminal case of impaired driving on April 8, for which he was fined $1,500 and handed a one-year driving ban.

A bureau spokesperson tells Quinte News, after his plea Wednesday, Detlor has been given a verbal 24 month demotion to 2nd Class Constable and a written decision will follow.

Detlor is a 13-year veteran of the OPP and has been suspended with pay while his case was being dealt with.

A date for his reinstatement has not been set.
