Part of Hume Street was closed for more than five hours on May 30 for an investigation into a two-vehicle crash involving a police cruiser.
The crash occurred at about 2:45 p.m.. at the intersection of Peel and Hume Streets and the road was closed until about 10 p.m.
A news release this morning from Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stated the officer in the marked cruiser was on route to a call for service when the collision occurred.
The officer and the driver of the other vehicle (there was only one person in each vehicle) were taken to hospital with minor injuries and released later.
The investigation is still ongoing.

Investigation underway in OPP cruiser and vehicle collision
A busy area in Collingwood was closed to traffic after a two-vehicle collision involving an OPP cruiser on Thursday afternoon.
Police say the officer was headed to a service call around 2:45 p.m. in a fully-marked OPP cruiser when the collision happened with a civilian vehicle at the intersection of Peel Street and Hume Street.
Both the officer and the driver of the second vehicle were taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries. Both have since been released.
The intersection was closed until around 10 p.m. for the investigation.
The cause of the crash remains under police probe.
