Police officer charged after crashing into pickup truck

A five-year member of the Ontario Provincial Police has been charged following a two-vehicle collision in Simcoe involving a police cruiser.

The Ontario Provincial Police said on Wednesday shortly before 4 p.m., the police cruiser and a pickup truck collided at the intersection of West Street and Queen Street.

No one was injured in the crash.

As a result, the provincial constable driving the cruiser is now charged with failing to yield to traffic and was issued a Provincial Offences Notice.

KITCHENER -- An officer is facing charges following a collision between a police cruiser and a pickup truck.

OPP responded to the incident at Queen Street in Simcoe around 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

There were no reported injuries from the crash.

The officer with five years of service has been charged with failing to yield to traffic.

They were also issued a provincial offences notice.
