LAURIER TWP. -- A West Parry Sound OPP officer has been charged with careless driving after he allegedly lost control of a vehicle on Highway 11, while responding to a call for service.
On Saturday, Sept. 22, at about 7 a.m., Almaguin Highlands OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 11 at Goreville Road involving a police vehicle.
Investigation determined the police vehicle was travelling north on Highway 11 responding to a call for service, when the driver lost control and drove off of the highway. The driver, the lone occupant in the police vehicle, was transported to a local hospital by Parry Sound EMS where he was treated for minor injuries.
Provincial Const. Brian Henry, a 16-year member currently serving at the West Parry Sound detachment, has been charged with careless driving. Const. Henry remains on active duty.
