An OPP constable has been charged after her cruiser crashed in Aberfoyle earlier this week.

According to an OPP press release, the officer was turning from Wellington Road 24 onto Wellington Road 46 on Tuesday, when the vehicle hit a traffic light pole in the centre median.

The pole was knocked down and the cruiser significantly damaged, but the driver was not hurt.

Const. Jennifer Tschanz is charged with making an unsafe turn under the Highway Traffic Act.

ABERFOYLE — A Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police officer has been charged in connection with an on-duty collision on Tuesday.

The officer, a 12-year-veteran, was charged with making an unsafe turn in the single-vehicle incident Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The charge was laid after a vehicle making a left turn from Wellington Road 34 to Wellington Road 46 collided with a light standard in the centre median, knocking it down.

The officer was uninjured however the cruiser sustained extensive damage.
