Ottawa OPP officer charged with resisting arrest, theft

An Ottawa OPP officer has been charged with theft and resisting arrest after an incident at a Walmart in Carleton Place, Ont., last month.
Ontario Provincial Police say they laid the charges after an investigation by the members of the OPP Professional Standards Bureau.
Dennis Hill, 37, has been charged with one count of Theft Under $5000 and one count of resist arrest.
Hill, a 13-year member of the force from the Ottawa detachment is currently on leave and was not on duty when the incident is alleged to have taken place.
He is scheduled to appear in court in Perth on Aug. 18.
