OPP Officer Charged After A Collision

(PUSLINCH TOWNSHIP, ON) - Members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a minor collision on Nicholas Beaver Road around 1:14 p.m. this afternoon involving a cruiser and a parked vehicle.

Police investigation revealed that Provincial Constable A. Stiles was attempting back onto the road way behind an unattended vehicle when the corner of the police sideswiped the rear corner of the delivery truck. The officer was uninjured and the cruiser sustained minor damage.

The officer has been issues a Provincial Offence Notice for the offence of Start From Stopped Position, Not in Safety contrary to Section 142(2) of the Highway Traffic Act. The officer has been a member of the OPP for three years.
