LYN – A Leeds County O.P.P. officer – less than a year on the local force – has been ticketed after a rear-end crash on County Road 46.

Provincial police say an O.P.P. cruiser struck the backside of a boat being towed by a vehicle as it was slowing down to make a turn off the county road, northwest of Brockville.

There were no injuries and both vehicles had minor damage from the Monday night collision (June 25), police said.

Leeds County O.P.P. Const. Joel Lirette, 23, has been charged with following too closely under the Highway Traffic Act.
