HURON EAST, Ont. - Provincial police say an officer from the Huron County detachment is facing a charge arising from a collision.

Police say the collision occurred in Huron East on Tuesday after the officer had completed a traffic investigation.

OPP say the officer was making a turn when the fully marked police cruiser struck a parked vehicle.

Investigators say there was minor damage to both vehicles, but no injuries were reported at the scene.

Const. Graham Avery — a one-year veteran of the force — is charged with start from a stopped position — not in safety.
