Cop charged in Friday crash

A Quinte West OPP officer has been charged with failing to stop at a red light.
The charge was laid following a police investigation of a two-vehicle collision involving a civilian vehicle and police car Friday afternoon.
Members of the Quinte West OPP, Fire Department and Hastings-Prince Edward EMS responded to the collision at the intersection of Dundas Street West and Dufferin Avenue around 3:20 p.m. The intersection is controlled by traffic lights.
Two people in the civilian vehicle and the officer received minor injuries.
Cst. Allan Detlor of the Quinte West OPP Detachment has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with failing to stop at a red light.
