An Ontario Provincial Police officer faces a traffic charge following a collision on County Road 29 Wednesday afternoon.

An OPP officer had completed an investigation of another collision around noon, near New Dublin, the OPP reported.

As he left the investigation scene, he tried to turn around, to head south on County Road 29. As he made his turn, the marked police vehicle he was driving was struck by a southbound vehicle, police added.

Cst. Chris Trower, 33, has been charged with Start From Stop Position Not In Safety, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act, the OPP added.

No one was injured in the collision.

OPP charges officer after on-duty crash near Brockville

OTTAWA — Ontario Provincial Police have charged one of their officers under the Highway Traffic Act after an on-duty crash near Brockville.

Police said the officer had just finished a crash investigation around noon on Wednesday on Highway 29 about 15 kilometres northwest of Brockville.

When the officer left the crash scene, he tried to turn around to head south on Highway 29.

As the officer made the turn, the cruiser he was driving was struck by a southbound vehicle.

Const. Chris Trower, 33, was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with starting from a stopped position not in safety.

BROCKVILLE, Ont. - A provincial police officer has been charged in connection with an accident that took place just as he wrapped an investigation of a separate crash.

Leeds County OPP say an officer who had just completed a collision investigation on Highway 29 north of Brockville on Wednesday attempted to turn around, and head south on the highway.

At that point however, his marked police vehicle was hit by a southbound vehicle.

Thirty-three-year-old Const. Chris Trower was charged with starting from a stopped position not in safety under the Highway Traffic Act. (CJOJ)

OPP officer charged in accident

An OPP officer was charged with making an unlawful turn today, during his investigation of another accident on Highway 29 near New Dublin.

On March 12, around noon, the officer had just completed a collision investigation on Highway 29, near New Dublin, when he had one of his own.

Const. Chris Trower was charged with starting from a stop position, not in safety contrary to the Highway Traffic Act, when he had was leaving the investigation scene.

Police say Trower attempted to turn around, to head south bound on Highway 29, and as he made his turn, the marked police vehicle he was driving was struck by a south‎ bound vehicle.
