Ontario’s police watchdog has charged a Lambton OPP officer in relation a Plympton-Wyoming collision last fall that resulted in serious injuries to a 25-year-old woman.
The Special Investigations Unit determined that on September 14, 2013, OPP officers attempted to stop a vehicle being operated by a 29-year-old male. The SIU says the vehicle didn’t stop and went into a ditch on Camlachie Rd., south of Confederation Line.
While the driver didn’t sustain serious injuries, his female passenger suffered a fractured collar bone and was taken to hospital in London for treatment.
As a result of the investigation, Lambton OPP Constable Kevin Brown has been charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
Brown is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on April 28, 2014.
The SIU is an arm’s length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
